The premier conference & exposition for the chemical process industries (CPI) is focused on innovative technologies and is designed to help engineers fulfill the short and long-term strategies of their companies.


“What’s next for CPI technologies?”


The 2010 ChemInnovations conference is issuing an industries-wide call for papers. A committee of 40 select members has been formed to assist with the programming of this event. Prospective authors are invited to submit a 200-300 word abstract(s) for consideration by the advisory committee by Friday, March 26, 2010. We are looking for innovative, practical and proven approaches to the chemical process industries' biggest challenges. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Process intensification and optimization

  • Aging plants: Shuttering, revamping and converting

  • Feedstock flexibility

  • Energy efficiency and flexibility

  • Cost estimating

  • Innovative design, troubleshooting and optimization techniques

    • Catalyst and reaction engineering
    • Distillation and separation
    • Mixing and blending
    • Heat transfer
    • Fluid handling
    • Solids processing
  • Environmental Health & Safety

    • Water treatment and reuse
    • Process and plant safety
    • Air pollution control
    • Greenhouse gas emissions: Reporting and practical reduction strategies
  • Software, Automation and Control

    • New applications for process simulation
    • Asset management
    • Instrumentation and process control improvements
    • Wireless: End user success stories

Submitting an abstract:

  1. Submit your 200-300 word abstract to Kim Arellano, Conference Director via email to no later than Friday, March 26, 2010.
  2. You will be notified 45 days after the submission deadline on whether or not your abstract was accepted.
  3. If your abstract is accepted, you must register for the event within 14 days of notification at the speaker registration rate.
  4. Presentations/Papers – Email your PowerPoint presentation and optional paper to Kim Arellano,, by March 26, 2010 and bring a copy with you to the event. Your presentation and optional paper will be included in the conference proceedings.
Author’s guide

– All presentations should be of the highest of caliber, informative, forward-thinking, and non-commercial. All submissions should:
  • Be objective and include practical and impartial information. No sales pitches will be accepted.
  • Identify primary and contributing authors. Abstracts authored or co-authored by users/operators or engineering firms will receive favorable consideration.
  • Abstracts involving actual implementations will receive favorable consideration.

Media – Presenters should prepare presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint. ChemInnovations will provide the computer display equipment (multi-media Projector) and computer/operator.

Dealines &Acceptance – If deadlines for Abstract or Presentations are not met, organizer may substitute another speaker. The Organizer reserves the right to reject any abstract or presentation at any time if deemed unsuitable for any reason including but not limited to content, length or media used. Organizer does not reserve or guarantee time slots for any speaker. Speaker must agree to be in the room at the beginning of his or her session. Speaker must be registered and paid in full for paper to be accepted. Topics and schedule are subject to change, please check the website for the current information.
