Sustainability :: Green Innovation of the Month Novasep and Danisco Develop Process for Betaine from Bioethanol4:37 AM MST | December 16, 2010 | Alex Scott Fine chemicals firm Novasep (Pompey, France), and Daniso (Copenhagen), say they have jointly developed a “cost-effective, environmentally friendly process” to produce betaine, an animal feed ingredient in short supply, from vinasses. Vinasses are a byproduct of sugar-beet-derived bioethanol. The two firms will build a commercial production plant for the process at Origny, France.
