Key Chemical Sectors Avoid Major EU Emissions Trading Costs

The European Commission has exempted 164 industrial sectors-including a swathe of key chemical sectors-from having to pay for their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions allowances for the next phase of Europe’s emissions trading scheme (ETS) to start in 2013.
