House Climate Hearings to Include Testimony from Dow, DuPont

The House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a series of hearings this week on proposed legislation to mandate a cap-and-trade program for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The hearings will seek comment on a draft bill released earlier this month by committee chair Henry Waxman (D., CA) and Representative Edward Markey (D., MA). The “American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009” (ACES) is closely modeled on recommendations by the U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP; Washington), a coalition including Dow Chemical and DuPont as well...
