Unilever Extends Collaboration to Make Personal Care Products from Algae

Unilever and biotech start-up Solazyme (South San Francisco, CA) say they have extended a collaboration to develop cost effective oils for personal care products derived from algae. The agreement follows the culmination of a year-long collaboration between Solazyme and Unilever, in which Solazyme’s renewable algal oils were tested successfully in Unilever product formulations.
