Deinove on Track to Receive Key Biomaterials Patent

Deinove (Paris), a biotech start-up, says the European Patent Office (EPO) has sent the company an “intention to grant" notice for a “foundational” biomaterials patent relating to the exploitation of deinococcus bacteria.   The patent covers a genetic engineering process invented by Deinove, which exploits deinococci's unique self-repair ability - a property which has enabled these bacteria to enrich their genome through natural evolution over 3 billion years, the company says.
