Virdia Opens Demonstration Facility at Technology Center in Virginia

Virdia (Redwood City, CA) opened its demonstration facility at its new technology center at Danville, VA on April 25. The facility exhibits the company’s CASE (Cold Acid Solvent Extraction) process, which converts cellulosic biomass to high quality fermentable sugars and lignin. Located at its Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR), the facility produces commercially representative samples of cellulosic sugars and lignin for commercial applications, as well as demonstrates the CASE process at a pilot scale.
