Umicore Partners Dyesol to Commercialize Dye Solar Cells

Catalyst and precious metals supplier Umicore says it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) and entered into negotiations to establish a business alliance with Dyesol (Queanbeyan, Australia), a company developing solar cells based on dye technology. Dyesol’s solar cells generate electricity from sunlight using metal-based dyes including dyes featuring ruthenium. Financial terms between the two companies have not been discosed.
