Sustainability Shell Drops Plans with Iogen for Biofuel Plant9:45 AM MDT | May 14, 2012 | Lindsay Frost Shell has dropped plans with Iogen for the construction of a commercial-scale biofuel plant at Manitoba, Canada. The scrap of the planned larger-scale cellulosic ethanol facility will mean the loss of 150 jobs and raises questions about fuel made from agricultural waste in Canada. The facility was to produce ethanol from straw and other plant waste, rather than from food crops such as corn and sugar, according to Thompson Reuters (New York).
