Sabic to Invest €135 Million for Olefins Upgrade in the Netherlands

Sabic says that its previously announced project to upgrade the Olefins 4 plant at the company's petrochemical production complex at Geleen, the Netherlands will cost €135 million ($171.5 million). The goal of the investment is to ensure a safer, more competitive, more efficient, and environmentally friendly steam cracker, the company says. The investment, apart from the upgrade, will cover more than 20 improvement projects, as well as a substantial maintenance shutdown, scheduled for September 2013.
