Sustainability EU Starts Evaluation Phase of Reach, Targets 90 Substances Including TiO2 and Triclosan8:41 AM MST | March 2, 2012 | Alex Scott The European Union (EU) has begun to implement the Evaluation component of its Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program. An initial list of 90 substances has been selected for evaluation. The substances have been selected because regulatory authorities in the EU suspect they pose a risk to human health or the environment. Substances listed include formaldehyde, methanol, tert-butyl methyl ether, titanium dioxide, toluene, triclosan, and diundecyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, and diallyl phthalate.
