Sustainability Dow partners with Canadian firm for plastics recovery technology9:00 AM MST | January 4, 2013 | Rebecca Coons Klean Industries, a Vancouver, BC-based gasification and pyrolysis technology firm, says it has signed a three-year agreement with Dow Chemical to develop ways to recover energy, chemicals, and oil from end-of-life waste plastics. Financial terms were not disclosed. Klean's technology has been used at a 50-m.t./day waste plastics–to-oil recycling plant in Japan since 2000. The unit is capable of processing mixed plastics, including polyethylene terephthalate and polyvinyl chloride, at up to 20% of the infeed supply, in addition to the more predominant...
