China Announces Plan to Improve Food Safety

The Chinese government has released a new plan to improve food safety regulations. China currently has more than 2,000 national regulations on food and more than 2,900 industry-based regulations, and many of these overlap or contradict each other because multiple government agencies were responsible in the past for compiling their own standards, the government says.
