Amvac biopesticide granted EPA registration

American Vanguard (Amvac; Newport Beach, CA) says it has received EPA registration for its naturally occurring SmartBlock potato sprout inhibitor and will begin marketing immediately. The company says SmartBlock—already FDA-approved as a food additive—is classified as a biopesticide by the EPA.
