U.S. Railcar Loadings Down by 11%

Chemical sector railcar loadings in the U.S. declined by a 11% year-on-year for the week ended July 18, totaling 27,269 carloads, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). North American loadings stood at 40,080 carloads, a 13.3% decline from the same period last year. U.S. loadings were basically flat from last week, which saw a total of 27,338 carloads. North American loadings declined slightly from last week. For the year-to-date, North American loadings total 1,070,683 carloads, with the U.S. figure at 720,085 carloads. Loadings in Canada...
