Services :: Transportation Rail Traffic Rises 23.2%3:45 PM MST | March 11, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 23.2% year-on-year last week, to 44,774 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. traffic rose 18.4%, to 28,795 cars. Canadian traffic was up 37.6%, to 14,984 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 11.7%, to 995 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals. Overall freight rail traffic in North America rose 7.5% year-on-year last week, to 373,139 cars, AAR says. Chemicals sector traffic is up 15.9% year-to-date, totaling 401,899...
