Services :: Transportation Rail Traffic Rises 17%11:50 AM MST | February 25, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 17% year-on-year last week, to 44,640 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported. U.S. traffic was up 13.7%, to 29,004 cars. Canadian traffic rose 24.3%, to 14,370 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 16.3%, to 1,266 cars. U.S. and Mexican traffic rose from the prior week's totals, though Canadian traffic declined. Overall North American freight rail traffic rose 1.3% year-on-year last week, to 358,553 cars.
