Services :: Transportation Rail Traffic Rises 15.5%3:18 PM MDT | April 1, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 15.5% year-on-year last week, to 43,765 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) says. U.S. traffic was up 14.1%, to 28,312 cars. Canadian traffic rose 18%, to 14,260 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 22.1%, 1,193 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 18.4% last week, to 383,109 cars. Chemicals sector traffic is up 16.8% from 2009 levels, totaling 536,091 cars through March...
