Rail Traffic Rises 15.5%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 15.5% year-on-year last week, to 43,765 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) says. U.S. traffic was up 14.1%, to 28,312 cars. Canadian traffic rose 18%, to 14,260 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 22.1%, 1,193 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals.
