Services :: Transportation Rail Traffic Continues to Rise3:53 PM MST | December 17, 2009 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 8.8% during the week ended December 12, to 39,791 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. traffic rose 14.8%, to 25,752 cars. Canadian traffic fell 2.4%, to 12,923 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 24.7%, to 1,116 cars. Traffic declined from the prior week's totals. Though chemicals sector traffic increased, overall freight rail traffic fell 7.6% last week, to 341,410 cars.
