Services :: Transportation North American Railcar Loadings Down 9.1% Last Week11:20 AM MDT | August 27, 2009 | Vincent Valk Chemical sector railcar loadings in North America declined by 9.1% last week, to 41,441, according to figures from the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. loadings were down by 10.1%, to 27,530, while Canadian loadings declined by 8.9%, to 12,680. Mexican loadings, meanwhile, were up 18.7%, to 1,231. Year-to-date, loadings are down 18% from 2008, to 1,273,417, AAR says.
