Services :: Transportation North American Rail Traffic Up for Week Ended September 19, 20091:23 PM MDT | September 24, 2009 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America was up 7.6% for the week ended September 19, 2009, to 40,612 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. traffic rose 17.4%, to 27,608 cars, during the same week. Both figures were increases from the prior week's totals. Meanwhile, Canadian traffic declined 11.1% to 11,898 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 31.7% to 1,106 cars.
