Services :: Transportation Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 4.5%10:53 AM MDT | June 30, 2011 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 4.5% year-on-year last week, to 41,097 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported today. U.S. traffic was up 1.4%, to 28,965 cars. Canadian traffic rose 15.2% to, 10,879 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 3.8%, to 1,253 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose barely, by 0.1%, to 372,041 cars.
