Services :: Transportation Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 10.1%3:23 PM MDT | August 12, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 10.1% year-on-year last week, to 43,646 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported. U.S. traffic was up 4.3% to 28,765. Canadian traffic rose 27.1%, to 13,916 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 14,5%, to 965 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 7.9% year-on-year last week, to 368,576 cars. Year-to-date chemicals sector traffic is up 15.1% from 2009, to 1,371,129...
