Services :: Transportation Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 2.8%4:18 PM MDT | September 20, 2012 | Vincent Valk North American chemicals sector rail traffic fell 2.8% year-on-year during the week ended September 15, to 41,003 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 0.8%, to 29,177 cars. Canadian traffic fell 8.4%, to 10,424 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 2%, to 1,402 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week’s totals, though it declined in Canada.
