Services :: Transportation Chemical Rail Traffic Rises 8.5%3:08 PM MDT | May 27, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 8.5% year-on-year last week, to 43,759 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 3.8%, to 28,847 cars. Canadian traffic rose 21.1%, to 13,811 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 5%, to 1,101 cars. Traffic rose slightly from the prior week's totals. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 14.3% year-on-year last week, to 373,904 cars.
