Services :: Transportation Chemical Rail Traffic Rises 14.7%1:05 PM MDT | June 3, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 14.7% year-on-year last week, to 44,126 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 16%, to 29,786 cars. Canadian traffic rose 14.1%, to 13,153 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 6.5%, to 1,187 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week's levels. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 23.4% year-on-year last week, to 372,754 cars.
