Chemicals sector rail traffic rises 4.1%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 4.1% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 3 August, to 42,271 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was up 0.7%, to 30,179 cars. Canadian traffic rose 15%, to 10,760 cars, while Mexican traffic increased 4%, to 1,332 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week’s totals.
