Services :: Storage North American Rail Traffic Up for Week Ended November 14, 20099:42 AM MST | November 20, 2009 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 5.5% last week, to 42,596 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported. U.S. traffic was up 8.5%, to 28,252 cars. Canadian traffic fell 1%, to 13,311 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 14.8%, to 1,033 cars. The figures for the U.S., Canada and the continent as a whole were increases from the prior week's totals. Year-to-date, the North American chemicals sector has seen 1,765,473 cars of rail traffic, a 14.4% drop from 2008. Overall freight rail traffic last week totaled 365,741 cars, a 6.8% drop...
