Services :: Storage Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 9.3%2:59 PM MDT | October 7, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 9.3% year-on-year last week, to 46,532 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported. U.S. traffic rose 6.7%, to 29,873 cars. Canadian traffic was up 15.4%, to 15,650 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 2.2%, to 1,009 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week's totals, except in Mexico. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 7.8% year-on-year last week, to 391,943 cars.
