Services :: Shipping Rail Traffic Rises 22.5%3:11 PM MDT | March 18, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 22.5% year-on-year last week, to 45,176 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. traffic was up 19.3%, to 28,854 cars. Canadian traffic rose 31.2%, to 15,125 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 2%, to 1,197 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week's totals. Overall freight rail traffic in North America rose 7.1% last week, to 375,661 cars. Year-to-date, chemicals sector traffic is up 16.5% from 2009 levels, totaling 447,075...
