Services :: Shipping Rail Traffic Rises 17.7%10:19 PM MST | March 4, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 17.7% year-on-year last week, to 48,065 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. traffic was up 12.7%, to 31,307 cars. Canadian traffic posted the largest rise, at 30.5%, to reach 15,505 cars. Mexican traffic rose 7.3%, to 1,253 cars. U.S. and Canadian traffic also rose from the prior week's totals. Overall North American rose 4.7% year-on-year last week, to 375,696 cars.
