Services :: Shipping Death Toll from Malaysia Tanker Explosion Rises11:12 AM MDT | July 30, 2012 | Ian Young The death toll from a chemical tanker explosion last week at Labuan, Malaysia, has risen to five, the ship's owner MISC (Kuala Lumpur) says. The blast occurred on July 26 as the vessel, Bunga Alpinia, was loading methanol from a Petronas Chemicals terminal in the port of Labuan. All of the victims were members of the ship's crew. Bunga Alpinia had 29 crew members, 24 of whom were brought ashore safely following the accident, MISC says.
