Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 6%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 6% year-on-year for the week ended October 1, to 43,928 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 3.2%, to 30,805 cars. Canadian traffic rose 12.3%, to 11,945 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 21.8%, to 1,178 cars.
