Services :: Shipping Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 6.6%9:42 AM MDT | June 24, 2011 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 6.6% year-on-year last week, to 41,992 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 4.5%, to 29,328 cars. Canadian traffic rose 10.2% to 11,126 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 26.7%, to 1,538 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 4.1% year-on-year last week. Year-to-date, the North American chemicals sector has generated 1,036,221 cars of rail traffic, up 7% from 2010...
