Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 3.5%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 3.5% year-on-year for the week ended October 8, to 40,744 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 4.8%. to 29,323 cars. Canadian traffic fell 1.7%, to 10,205 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 21.7%, to 1,216 cars.
