Services :: Shipping Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 21.6%10:01 AM MST | December 30, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 21.6% year-on-year last week, to 41,612 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported today. The week included the Christmas holiday. In the U.S., traffic rose 17.4%, to 25,470 cars. Canadian traffic rose 32.1%, to 15,264 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 11.2%, to 878 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 27.3% year-on-year last week, to 336,380 cars.
