Services :: Shipping Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 2%5:18 PM MDT | May 17, 2012 | Vincent Valk North American chemicals sector rail traffic fell 2% year-on-year during the week ended May 12, to 42,083 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 4%, to 29,437 cars. Canadian traffic rose 5%, to 11,509 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 13.3%, to 1,137 cars. Traffic declined from the prior week’s totals.
