Services :: Shipping Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 1.9%3:31 PM MST | January 19, 2012 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America declined 1.9% year-on-year for the week ended January 14, to 41,879 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 1.8%, to 30,647 cars. Canadian traffic fell 11.9%, to 10,162 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 2.9%, to 1,070 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week’s totals.
