Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 0.9%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 0.9% year-on-year for the week ended December 31, to 40,165 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic fell 2.4%, to 28,681 cars. Canadian traffic was up 0.2%, to 10,397 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 41.4%, to 1,087 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week’s totals.
