Services :: Shipping Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 0.8%12:03 PM MDT | August 24, 2012 | Lindsay Frost Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America declined 0.8% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended August 18 to 41,239 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 0.7%, to 30,235 cars. Canadian traffic fell 4.3%, to 9,811 cars, while Mexican traffic declined 6.7%, to 1,193 cars. Traffic increased from the prior week’s totals, but fell in Mexico and Canada.
