Services :: Shipping Chemical Tanker Hijacked in Gulf of Aden5:32 AM MST | December 29, 2009 | Alex Scott A U.K.- flagged chemical tanker, the St James Park, reportedly on Monday, December 28 was captured by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden. The 140-meter long, 7,924 m.t. ship was on route to Thailand from Spain carrying a cargo of chemicals for manufacturing plastics. Further details about the cargo have not been disclosed. The St James Park made an emergency call on the evening on Monday saying it had been attacked by pirates, says the International Maritime Bureau (London).
