Services :: Shipping Chemical Rail Traffic Rises 10.5%5:14 PM MDT | June 10, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 10.5% year-on-year last week, to 41,532 cars. U.S. traffic was up 3.4%, to 26,426 cars. Canadian traffic rose 27.8%, to 13,982 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 2.8%, to 1,124 cars. U.S. and Mexican traffic fell from the prior week's totals, while Canadian traffic rose. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 8.4% year-on-year last week, to 356,012 cars, continuing several weeks of increases.
