Most States Ready to Comply with EPA Climate Rules, Group Says

Despite some high-profile state-level opposition to U.S. EPA's greenhouse gas (GHG) regulations, the vast majority of states are working to comply with the rules and finalize permitting programs by the January 2, 2011 deadline, Bill Becker executive director/National Association of Clean Air Agencies (NACAA) told reporters during a conference call. NACAA analyzed letters sent to EPA by states and territories outlining compliance efforts and potential problems, and found that nearly 80% of states will be prepared to operate GHG permitting programs in early 2011...
