Services :: Legal Calgon Carbon Ordered to Pay $12 Million for Breach of Contract10:32 AM MDT | August 2, 2010 | Vincent Valk A district court in Pennsylvania has ruled against Calgon Carbon in a breach of contract case with ADA-ES (Littleton, CO), a coal emissions technology firm. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2007, under which Calgon Carbon would pay ADA-ES sales commissions in an effort to jointly market activated carbon. ADA-ES claimed that Calgon Carbon did not pay the commission on a $55 million sales contract for activated carbon, breaching the MOU, and was awarded $12 million in damages.
