SAP Buys Business Intelligence Firm

SAP says it plans to acquire Business Objects (Paris), a business intelligence software firm, in a deal worth about €4.8 billion ($6.78 billion). The deal is pending regulatory and Business Objects’ shareholder approval, and is expected to close in first-quarter 2008.
