Manufacturing Operations Software Spending Rises

Manufacturing operations software budgets at most chemical, oil, and gas (COG) firms in Europe and the U.S. rose this year, according to an AMR Research (Boston) survey that included 62 COG firms. About 72% of the U.S. respondents plan to spend more than $999,000 on manufacturing software this year, compared to 49% of European firms. “The most important business issues driving spending of the largest-ticket software applications” address customer demand for improved product quality, shorter lead times, and complete and on-time shipments, AMR says...
