Borealis Selects LDPE Process for Mideast Plant

Borealis says it has selected LyondellBasell’s Lupotech T technology for a 350,000-m.t./year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant to be built in the Mideast by 2013. LyondellBasell says the exact location of the LDPE plant is the “subject of ongoing discussions” with Borealis. Borouge, a Borealis joint venture, is planning its third petrochemical complex, dubbed Borouge 3, at Ruwais, Abu Dhabi for completion by 2014.
