M&A: Market in Flux

The chemicals M&A market is in a period of flux, as a gap in perceived value is starting to close and players from developing markets are emerging as buyers, speakers at CW's webcast "M&A: Retrenchment or Recovery?" said last week. While there is still a perceived value gap between buyers and sellers, that gap is smaller than it was earlier this year, says Lamar Chambers, senior v.p. and CFO at Ashland. Nevertheless, the market is still difficult, as the gap has not disappeared and credit access remains a problem, especially for private equity...
