Services :: Financial Lanxess Acquires Phthalate-Free Plasticizer Maker1:24 PM MDT | October 17, 2011 | Vincent Valk Lanxess has acquired Unitex Chemical (Greensboro, NC), a maker of phthalate-free plasticizers and other specialty chemicals, such as flame retardants, the company says. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Unitex employs about 40 at its one site in Greensboro, which has a capacity 50,000 m.t./year, producing mostly phthalate-free plasticizers. The company recorded about $30 million in sales last year.
