Ashland water technologies' sale complete, company renamed Solenis

Private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R; New York) has closed its $1.8-billion acquisition of Ashland’s water technologies business on Friday, renaming the newly independent company Solenis. The business generates $1.7 billion/year in revenue, about two thirds of which is derived from pulp and paper process chemicals. It is the largest pulp and paper process chemicals supplier globally and one of the largest companies in the industrial water treatment space.
